Why Savernake Nannies?
At Savernake Nannies I often get asked what the meaning is behind the name, so I thought I would take this opportunity to explain
When I decided to set up a Nanny agency I thought long and hard about the name.
I spent time researching the names of local agencies and those further afield.
I wanted the name to have a meaning and be relatable to the area in which I live and work.
I had an image already in my mind of the kind of logo I was envisaging so it soon became obvious that the perfect name would be SAVERNAKE NANNIES.
To those of you who are not local – this would not make any logical sense whatsoever!
Savernake Forest is located to the south of Marlborough Wiltshire
“The forest is full of history and goes back over a thousand years! Its long history has left an outstanding legacy of old trees, rich landscapes, and diverse habitats. One of the country’s oldest trees, the Big Bellied Oak, is very noticeable on the side of the main road from Marlborough to the village in which I live.” (Forestry England uk)
Many people are unsure how to pronounce the word SAVERNAKE.
It is pronounced
“S” (phonetical S)
“AVE” (as in HAVE)
“ER” (as in her)
“NAKE” (as in knack)
Once I had checked that nobody else was operating under this name Savernake Nannies was born!
Then came the logo. This is where my daughter stepped in. She listened to my ideas and created the perfect logo. The image and the colours were exactly how I had envisaged them. Thank you Georgie!
